DIRECTOR’S REPORT
1. What is happening in Parks and Rec
2. Food Truck Fridays – increased number of food trucks per Friday from June- August, games and live music was added. Food Truck Friday has grown over the past five years.
3. Library in the Park – another successful event, characters, games, etc. Draws a big crowd of young children to the park.
4. Sounds of Summer – trying to find a solution to the saving seats issue. Open to suggestions; roping off area, policing, moving items, etc.
5. Saturday in the Park – addition of a dance party, standard events, consistently big event, allows looking for ways to improve/add.
6. America 250 – Huge event, everyone loved the drone show. Looking for ways to include a drone show in the future. Expensive = sponsor?
7. Fall Fest – upcoming event, more sponsorship then before. One day event again this year
OLD BUSINESS
ROCKBURN PARK GRANT
- Rockburn Park Project – begins September, slated to end in November with a new playground area, basketball court, sidewalk, and fence.
